Benjamin Lawrence, a proud Cornishman, grew up in the borough of Restormel, in the heart of the clay mining industry, where a love for the natural world and history began to take shape. As an adult, he moved to Dundee, Scotland, where he earned an MFA in Art and Humanities at the University of Dundee DJCAD, deepening his understanding of the arts and developing his creative voice. Currently based in Yorkshire, he works as an analyst in the steel industry, balancing his professional life with a passion for poetry.

In his spare time, Benjamin enjoys exploring the history of the British Isles, with a particular interest in ecclesiastical history and the history of art. When not writing, reading or exploring museums, he spends weekends metal detecting, uncovering traces of the past.

The themes in his poetry often reflect his interests in Christianity, cosmology, entropy, history, isolation, philosophy and psychology, all centred around exploring the human condition and existential ideas. Currently he is working on a chapbook with a small selection of writing that he intends to self publish this year.
